Posillico Materials About Us

Servicing the New York Metro Area for Three Generations

Posillico Materials began as Posillico Bros. Asphalt back in 1971. An offshoot of J.D. Posillico, the general contractor who first opened its doors in 1941, Posillico Bros. Asphalt (or PBA) operated as a batch plant with 2 silos that supplied asphalt largely to J.D. Posillico for road restoration in association with projects being completed for the Southwest Sewer District from 1971 - 1980.

Our Asphalt Plant upgraded to a state of the art Astec Double Drum Continuous Mix Plant in the early 1990’s which saw our silo quantity rise to 4. The upgrade increased production, capacity, and efficiency in utilizing Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) into New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) asphalt mixes for a growing Highway and Bridge Improvement Program (including the H.O.V. initiatives).

Today, PBA is Posillico Materials, with an increased focus on service to a wide variety of mixes desired by our customers. We added a 5th silo to house a greater variety of asphalt mixes back in 2012 and we recently completed construction on a state of the art rail offloading expansion to our facility that drastically improves aggregate delivery and reduces the impact of fuel, tolls, and other trucking costs.

In addition, other upgrades have been made to our facilities that improve material handling methods, asphalt crushing efficiency, and power efficiency. Upgrades have also been made to reduce fuel consumption, total emissions, and aggregate waste and moisture content from our material.

Posillico Materials Then and Now Asphalt Silo

Posillico Materials, now in it's third generation of family ownership, has a rich and extensive history. As such, the parallels from now to the past are more apparent than ever. On the left here is the raising of our first asphalt silo back in 1971 and on the right is the raising of our fifth asphalt silo in 2012.

Posillico Materials Then and Now Party

Family, friends, and community leaders joined our employees in celebrating the opening of PBA back in 1971. A similar gathering was held in 2013 to celebrate the completion of the modifications that helped to make Posillico Materials the industry leader we are today.
